Feedback From FRC WBV Courses
It is often all too easy to find a reason as to why emerging legislation or training does not apply to ‘you’. Often, this comes down to time and money. If you own, drive, operate or man small fast craft then WBV training is a ‘must have’. This issue has the potential to develop into a massive legal risk area for those who choose to ignore it.
I have just attended the WBV Managers & WBV Crew courses over the past two days and can say from a professional boaters point of view that I have found them very informative, thought provoking, well run and expertly delivered! We have taken a lot of information from these courses over the past two days and this info can only improve our boat operations in the long term! I would have no problem recommending these courses to anyone.
Overall an excellent and beneficial course that will become a ‘Must Do’ for operator.
WBV risks can apply to many ship types and in many work areas. For these reasons, a developed professional awareness of these issues applies throughout the maritime environment. Big ship people cannot be ruled out as many large ship types now carry fast rescue craft. If anything, these people should be primary targets as they use these boats less often than the main working groups do. For these reasons, they are probably far less aware of the issues and risks.
An extremely useful and informative course. Useful for posing as many questions as there were answers. Many far reaching issues and topics for further consideration. Hats off to FRC for taking the lead in this area.
After monitoring and extensively discussing the EU Vibration Directive in the past decade, I was curious for new developments and was somewhat prepared for a rehearsal. But at the end of the day I realised that it was like with a 'medical refresher course', lots of subjects had slipped my mind over time and were triggered again. It was great to experience the synergy of the FRC team members. Their professional 'in depth' highlighting of the problem areas was very clear and very well presented to all the different FRC users.
